I stepped inside the Field & Stream Store at Polaris and I immediately remembered when my kids were younger. My boys’ were taking a hunter safety course and were fascinated with taxidermied animals. I imagine that they wouldn’t have paid any attention to the fishing poles, camping tents or kayaks on display inside Field & Stream and instead would have run straight to the back of the store to stand in awe at the display of taxidermied animals. A young family entered the store at the same time my husband and I did and that is exactly what their children did. They stopped and posed in front of the large Moose for photos, excitedly asking what each of the animals were as the young father answered each question patiently. Thankfully there was a guide for those of us who aren’t up to speed on all the different animals one can hunt. I smiled but felt a pang as I realized just how much my life is changing now that my kids are grown, buying houses of their own, and my husband and I are preparing to become full-time RVers for the second time in our lives. I walked through the aisles of the store and thought of all the fun outdoor experiences my husband and I have had exploring the outdoors with our kids and the fun experiences that are sure to come. A visit to Field & Stream opens the door to many possibilities. Last year, we began camping again without the kids. We drove from Ohio to Oregon and tent camped along the Oregon Coast. I loved every minute of it. Next year, we’re hoping to finally go on that bike ride along the Great Allegheny Passage we’ve been talking about for the past couple years, and I would love to get a set of kayaks to keep in our RV. I could become very familiar with this store. Field & Stream know the bonds that can be made in the outdoors. Since 1871, Field & Stream has been there to help you with those outdoor experiences. From hunting trips with buddies, to fishing with your dad, to family camping trips, you’ll find everything you need to pursue those passions at Field & Stream. Speaking of the RV, my husband and I stopped at Field & Stream while we were in Columbus to pick up a few things that we’ll need. This isn’t new to us. We’ve RVed before, but there are a few things that Field & Stream sells that we needed. We’re not the type of RVers to stay inside our RV so we need some basic camping equipment as well. Our camp chairs have disappeared one by one; this isn’t surprising when you have grown kids who “borrow” them and cart them off to visit friends or leave them sitting around the bonfire pit. Field & Stream had a large selection of colors and several styles to choose from. My husband loves reclining chairs so I thought the Zero Gravity chair would be one that he’d especially like. I convinced him to try it but he quickly decided it wasn’t for him. We chose matching camp chairs manufactured by Field & Stream instead. Though I can definitely see the benefits that one could provide in a pinch or in certain situations, I’m thankful Luggable Loo won’t be needed in the RV though we did chuckle about it. Field & Stream has a large selection of products that they manufacture. From camping gear to fishing equipment and clothing, you’ll find a variety of different brands, including Field & Stream. I was impressed by how large the store was and the variety that was offered. My husband was impressed by the knowledge of the associates. There were plenty of associates on hand to offer assistance and answer our questions. The only thing they couldn’t help me find, was my husband after he left me looking at kayaks and ventured to the hunting department. No worries, I eventually found him browsing the Carhartts after I picked up a couple Field & Stream Sherpa blankets. I did find a really cute pillow that I liked for the RV. Tell me this wouldn’t be perfect. Field & Stream is definitely a store we’ll frequent again and again. With their own trusted and proven line or products as well as other well-known brands like Carhartt, Yeti, Coleman, Stanley, and Under Amour, Field & Stream offers the brands that my family has come to associate with quality. Whether you’re buying merchandise for your next hunting trip, are looking for some new cookware that you can use in the RV or the campsite, or need a new pair of boots to keep your toes warm doing your favorite outdoor activity, you’ll find a wide range of products and knowledgeable associates at Field & Stream to help you make pursue your passions. Are you ready to visit Field & Stream? You’ll find two in Columbus. One is located at Polaris and one at Easton. You’ll find other locations using the Store Locator.
