Looking for Great Food in Bowling Green, Kentucky? Look no further than Montana Grille on 1740 Scottsville Road, an easy on/off of I-65 for those traveling along the interstate.
The comfortable rustic decor of the log-style restaurant is decorated with wrought iron and accents of the great Northwest, complete with an elk head adorning the wall above a large stone fireplace. The casual atmosphere allows you to dress up or down, so if you’re a weary traveler stopping to grab a bite to eat before jumping back on the road, you’ll feel right at home.
Upon stepping inside the restaurant, we were immediately greeted with the aroma of the hickory smoked grill, which hinted at the specialty -rotisserie fired meats. Our server seated us at a large round table and brought us cold waters with lemon, and the signature “Firebread”- a mildly spicy cornbread with jalepenos, served in a wrought iron skillet- as we looked at the menu trying to determine what to order. Everything looked delicious and after a full day of exploring Bowling Green, we were hungry.
It felt good to get off our feet to sit and relax in the air-conditioned restaurant. We skipped the specialty drinks, house cocktails and wines- stuck with our waters and were praised by our server for our appetizer selection of Tillamook Cheese & Pico de Gallo served with warm tortillas. The Tillamook Cheese is a sharp cheddar from Oregon and while none of us are really a fan of sharp cheeses, this entree is blended perfectly with a sweet pepper relish, spices and red wine vinegar.
We placed our orders of Bourbon Glazed Filets & Rotisserie Chicken, Surf and Turf, Chicken Pasta Alfredo and Wyoming Chef Chicken Salad. The Bourbon Glazed Filets were cooked to medium-well perfection, the portions were generous (translated huge) and the food was incredible.
Just thinking about the food that we ate that night makes my mouth water. My daughter and I both needed to-go boxes and though the menfolk were able to clean their plates, no one at our table had room in their bellies for dessert.
The Montana Grille in Bowling Green offered a great atmosphere, great food and great service. On a scale of 1-5, everyone in my family would rate Montana Grille a 5.
You can view the menu online and plan right around $20 per meal, some entree’s are more, some less. The Montana Grille opens at 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Sunday is open for lunch and dinner.
