Did you know that the Omni Hotel in Dallas is rated as one of the top workplaces in the city? And if happy workers mean happy guests, may I just say that Omni does travel good? The Omni Hotel in Dallas knows that your comfort is serious business and they don’t mess around. This 1,001 room, 4 star hotel and meeting center will go above and beyond to make sure that you are a satisfied guest, even if that means rearranging your room or hunting down a smaller crutch (yep, as in walking crutch, I heard it from the staff myself). Your comfort is of utmost importance.
I experienced my first impression of the hotel before I even left home, when I received an e-mail confirmation acknowledging my upcoming stay. The email offered important information about the spa and hotel amenities, the five on-site restaurants, area attractions, parking arrangements and the local weather forecast. The email also alerted me to the benefits of Omni’s Select Guest program which offers guests complimentary perks that include FREE morning beverage delivery, FREE in-room wi-fi, and one FREE night after twenty stays. FREE is good.
From the time my son and I checked into our room, I felt special. Even with a sold out hotel, the staff took the time to answer any questions that I had, and did so happily. I did not encounter one member of the staff during my stay that was not exceptional. They were all topnotch. And so were the sophisticated, modern accommodations.
It wasn’t only the competent staff and incredible building that impressed me. There was another something else that left me in awe. This hotel was impeccable.
When it comes to hotel stays, I’ve been known to pack my own cleaning supplies on more than one occasion. Let’s just say that I may be a little bit of a clean freak. I didn’t pack the Clorox® wipes on this trip and I’m pleased to say I wouldn’t have needed them anyway. The Omni Hotel in Dallas is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in, which put me at ease right away. Instead of noticing spots on the carpet or streaks on the mirror, I was able to look out the large floor to ceiling window in my room, relax, and enjoy the view.
The hotel and rooms are also beautifully decorated. Throughout the hotel you will find artwork from area artists gracing the walls in the form of paintings, drawings and sculptures. Each piece is representative of Dallas. If you find a piece you love, you can purchase it and have it shipped to your home. How’s that for the perfect souvenir?
My 17 year old son accompanied me on my trip to Dallas and while I loved the cleanliness of the room, the ample workspace, artwork, décor and the comfy, oversized reading chair sitting next to the window, my son was fascinated with all the modern features.
He loved the docking station for his iPod, the flat panel TV that welcomed us by name as we entered the room, the TV that was embedded in the bathroom mirror and the way the floor between the beds lit up at night so you can find your way to the restroom! That’s something we don’t see everyday!
My son found one more feature to love about the room, something I didn’t give a second thought. At 6’4”, it’s rare to find a bathtub that he can sit in comfortably. He shared with me that the tub at the Omni was perfect, allowing him to stretch out without bending his knees. That’s just something I don’t think about with my average 5’6” frame.
The Omni also utilizes a unique key switching system. When you enter your room, you place your room key into a slot by the door which activates the lights and heating and air conditioning system. I think it’s a great feature for travelers like myself that routinely misplace their room key, but that’s not necessarily why this feature was added to the plan of the rooms. When you remove your key, the lights are shut off and the HVAC returns to a preset temperature. Not only is it a cool and practical addition, it is also one of the many sustainability features that has earned Omni Dallas the prestigious U.S. Green Building Council LEED Gold certification, the only hotel in Texas to have achieved such an honor.
The Omni Dallas is also conveniently located within walking distance to historic Dealy Plaza, the Sixth Floor Museum and the DART system, which can transport you throughout the city. The Omni Hotel is also connected to the Dallas Convention Center via a Skybridge, making the Omni the perfect choice when you’re in town for a conference.
