My family enjoys traveling and seeing new things, but you probably already know that. What you may not know is that sometimes we can’t decide where to go because we have too many choices.
Earlier this year, I purchased quite a few attraction tickets through Groupon and at a silent auction at our church. With so many options, sometimes we simply can’t decide where to go.
To remedy the problem, I created a simple Summer Fun Container.
To get started, I dug through my craft cabinet and found a small container, some vellum paper, stickers and Sharpie markers.
I spent a few minutes decorating my empty, clean container with stickers.
Next I made a list of all the places that I already have tickets for.
I may have added places that we already have tickets for, but you could easily create your own list with ideas of things to do with your family. You could get started with:
- Take a walk at a local park
- Go out for ice cream
- Eat somewhere that you’ve never eaten before
- Go for a night hike
- Have a family night movie marathon
I cut them apart.
And placed them in the container.
Next time we have a free day, we’ll appoint someone to draw a slip of paper and we’ll be off. Although I did the work on this craft, you could easily get the children involved. They can decorate the container and write down some things they’d like to do for the summer.
So, tell me…who makes the decision of where to go in your home?
This week I’m joining 8 other bloggers for a week of Summer Bucket List fun. Make sure you stop by and see what the other bloggers have to share.

I LOVE this idea. It would be a great way for us to introduce each of the ‘surprise’ items my husband and I have planned.

I love this diplomatic way of choosing where to go or what to do! We will have to create us a container and do the same when we move to Colorado. We will all have so many wonderful new places to go and see, that I can see us having a difficult time choosing! Thanks for sharing!
