What is it about large bodies of water that make me want to sit and linger, relaxing in the soothing rhythmic waves? When I caught sight of the Mississippi River along the Riverwalk in New Orleans I had to stop, pause, and take it all in. The sight. The smell. The sounds.
I love the water.
I could sit and watch it all day. Whether it would be the Mississippi River, Lake Erie or the Atlantic Ocean.
I could have spent every waking minute along the banks of the Mississippi watching the boats come and go.
It’s hard to imagine that something that was so peaceful last week could be so destructive and cause so much devastation this week in the wake of Hurricane Isaac. My thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected.

Like you, I love the water, looking at it, being in it. But I’m so aware of how dangerous it can be and as I read, I couldn’t help thinking about Isaac. Great shots!

Love your pics and I couldn’t agree more – I love to be on and around the water – it’s so peaceful and calming. Have never been to New Orleans but would love to visit someday – hopefully all is well there!

I love walking along the water, too. There’s so much going on, but it’s also somehow relaxing.

What a sweet post – it is such a calm river isn’t it?? We pass over it several times a year with our travels and I always feel a sense of importance when we do.
I hope you link up this week to Friday Daydreamin’!!

I love the sense of space you get walking by a large body of water – and with a little luck the sounds of nature that go with it.

my thoughts and prayers with all those affected, too. Here in Tampa Bay which is missed that storm.
Like you, I love the water and looking at boats just, and go. One of the things I miss the most about my home island Puerto Rico! I would just sit at El Morro for hours every Sunday and watch cruise ships leave port and disappear into the horizon
