  • All good things must come to an end...for now. This is our last day of van camping on our first van camping trip in the @dodgeofficial Promaster 2500. There are a couple things I've learned. __________________________ 1. Van camping in the Promaster is so much easier then camping in my minivan. 2. My husband gets really crabby if he is hungry or tired. 3. We both become unbearable when we've been cooped up in the van for too long of a time. Which leads us to this photo. _________________________ When we road tripped with our kids, we always found state or national parks where we could stretch our legs and get some space. I thought it was needed to for them- not us. Turns out that the hubs and I need that outdoor space for our sanity as much as the kids did. 🌿🌳 ____________________________ Today, my husband and I drove quite a few miles. We were getting tired and we weren't being as nice as we could have been. So we stopped to walk on the trails at Lee State Park in South Carolina. It's amazing how much a little bit of time in nature can improve one's mood.   • Some go to @discoverdaytonabeach for the Daytona 500, I pulled off the interstate not to watch a race, but to see the larger than life Jantzen Girl. ______________________ The Jantzen Girl is one of six created for Jantzen in the late 1950's and one of four that remain today. This particular diver was suspended above Stamie’s Smart Beach Wear shop from 1965 until the shop closed in 2017.   • So much beauty in something that is dead. _____________________ Driftwood Beach is one of the coolest places I've been on this #vancamping trip and probably ranks up there with all time favorite places. _____________________ After driving through rain most of the day, the clouds began to subside as we entered Georgia, allowing us plenty of time to spend walking along the beach- me taking photos and my husband hunting for glass floats. _______________________ I can't wait to explore more tomorrow.   • I often seek out historical homes to tour when I travel and I've found homes from the Gilded Age or just past to be my favorite. The opulence and extravagance is mind boggling. If I could travel back in time I'd love to spend a day as a guest in a property like this. Vizcaya was the home of one of antiquities collector and top International Harvester executives, James Deering. Inspired by European estates and palaces, the 38,000 square foot home features 54 rooms, 34 of which are normally open to the public. The property cost $26 million to build. In today's prices, that could be as high as $8.7 billion! The home is gorgeous inside and out. A perk- the free parking allowed enough space to park the van though the backup camera certainly came in helpful.   • You may not know, but almost 10 years ago, my family was a full-time RV family. 🚐 _______________________ My husband and I, along with our three teenagers and rescued pound puppy lived in a 31-foot motorhome for 18 months. There were times we laughed, times we cried, and times we thought we would die if we had to endure one more moment in that cramped space. But I thank Jesus for that opportunity. It made our family who we are today. ________________________ My husband always told me when the kids were grown, he wanted to go back to a nomadic life but this time around we didn't want the expense of the RV. So we're testing out what it's like to travel in his 2017 @dodgeofficial Promaster in what we call the #vancampingexperiment. We've been on the road for 6 days and plan to continue for atleast another week.   • If you're traveling along I-95 near Raleigh in North Carolina, you must take a quick detour to nearby Wilson. This charming town has several unique stops that include the tallest Cape Hatteras Lighthouse replica, a muffler man and this cool whirligig park. I've never seen anything like it.   • Time spent by the ocean is good for the soul.💕 __________________________ I'll never forget my first trip to the ocean as a 2nd grader. My parent's took me out of school for almost two weeks to visit the Eastern seashore. 🌊 ___________________________ I loved every minute of it.
