I don’t believe travel needs to be expensive, difficult, or take you far from home to be memorable so I try my best to share content that can be enjoyed by the average family that may not have a large disposable income but prioritize memory-making opportunities.
I started this blog thirteen years ago as a family travel site while my husband and I homeschooled our kids, traveled with his job and lived in an RV. Things were tight, but we managed to explore as much as possible. Since then, this site has morphed from a journal about our lives into a valuable asset that offers travel inspiration for the budget-minded.

Topics You'll Find at Travel Inspired Living:
While we have many interests that may pop up from time to time, you'll find the bulk of the content here at Travel Inspired Living is focused on US road trips, roadside attractions, van camping, and things to do in Ohio. Here are some of our best posts to start:
Our 15+ Fun Roadside Stops to make on the way to Branson shares many of the stops we found from Ohio to Missouri on multiple trips.
We love to seek out fun and quirky stops when traveling and the Hartman Rock Garden in Springfield Ohio is no exception.
Van camping is a wonderful alternative to tent camping or traveling in an RV. It's very affordable and you can pretty much park anywhere. We've camped in both our minivan and our Dodge Promaster Ram. Check out our Van Camping 101 for everything you need to know.
You'll find we travel a lot and have traveled throughout the U.S. but since we're from Ohio, we feature plenty of things to do in the Buckeye State and if we've written about it, we've been there.
Why stay at a boring hotel when you can stay in a caboose, treehouse or castle? We share some of the unique loding options you'll find in Ohio and beyond.
As empty-nesters, my husband and I have the opportunity to experience romantic getaways throughout the Midwest and beyond. Here are some of our favorites with ideas to help you plan your own romantic getaway.
Whether you're looking for ways to save money or need to follow a special diet, cooking in a hotel room may help you accomplish both goals!
We also share a bit of adventure travel like the time we learned how to Hang Glide in the Outer Banks at the World’s Largest Hang Gliding School but I'll be honest. We're the most adventurous when the kids are with us.
