I love to decorate my home with items that I’ve collected on my travels or with items that inspire me to travel more. When the vinyl lettering became popular, I thought several times that I should purchase a Cricut, a personal electronic cutting machine, so I could make my own custom DIY travel quote wall art. And that’s as far as that thought got. It remained a thought, an idea. After all, I didn’t know how difficult it would be to make my own creations and since I spend so much time on the road, I wasn’t sure how I’d even have time to work on crafty projects.
And then I attended a conference in Chicago and I met several representatives from Cricut and had a chance to play around with the machine. I learned how easy it was to take a tumbler, tote and even a pillow and customize it just to my liking.
I was hooked.
So, imagine how ecstatic I was when a Cricut Explore Air™ showed up at my doorstep.
I dug into the box with the excitement of a child on Christmas Day! My only regret was right when it arrived, I was getting ready for a week long trip with my mom and dad and though I was super excited about the trip, it meant playing with the machine would have to wait. For a minute, I thought about making custom t-shirts for both of my parents. Something along the lines of “My daughter is my favorite child,” but thought better of it. I’m not sure my brothers share my sense of humor so I refrained. I certainly wouldn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. Even if it is true. Just kidding, just kidding. I know my mom and dad love all of us equally, but I’ll get back to the Cricut.
Just because I didn’t make those t-shirts doesn’t mean I haven’t thought of a slew of other crafty things to make when I’m home for more than a hot minute. Just think of all the custom Thanksgiving decorations and Christmas gifts I’ll be able to make this year! Not to mention cool travel inspired décor that will grace the walls and furniture of my house. And while I’m thinking about it, how much fun would it be to plan a craft night and invite friends over to get their craft on with the new Cricut Explore Air? Stay tuned because I can’t wait to show you what I’ll make with my new machine.

This has given me a lot of ideas on what I can create. We're renting, so I'd like to make something we can transport to our next home.
