Don’t Miss the Homeschool Day at McKinley Presidential Library & Museum

There were few things I looked forward to more when I homeschooled than field trips. The kids were able to see their friends, I was able to enjoy conversing with another adult, and the kids (and I) still learned something and could count the day as a school day.

Now that my oldest son and my daughter-in-law are homeschooling, I look forward to enjoying field trips with a new generation. That’s why I’m excited to share homeschool day opportunities that I think will prove engaging to homeschool families.

The McKinley Presidential Library & Museum in Canton will host a Homeschool Day on Monday, November 3, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This event is open exclusively to homeschool families and offers a rare chance to explore the museum without the general public. The museum will be closed to outside visitors during the event, creating a relaxed and personalized atmosphere for learning and discovery.

Highlights include visits to the Hoover-Price Planetarium, Discover World, the Street of Shops, and the McKinley Gallery, where students can step back in time to learn about local history, science, and President William McKinley’s life and legacy.

Families are encouraged to bring a packed lunch and make a full day of it. With so much to see and do, there’s no shortage of ways to keep young learners engaged while exploring history, science, and innovation under one roof.
