It doesn’t matter if I’m running errands around town, planning a trip out of state, or flying across the country, you’ll find a portable charger tucked inside my purse, my luggage or my carry-on. I guess it’s safe to say that I pretty much don’t leave home without one.
My phone doubles as my camera, calendar, and office because I can work just about anywhere that I can connect to the internet. But that only works if my battery is charged so I can use my phone.
We all know that even though battery life has greatly improved over the past few years when you use your phone THAT much the inevitable is bound to happen, and always at the worst possible moment.
Are you on the fence when it comes to purchasing a portable charger? I’m sharing a few reasons they may be handy that you haven’t considered.
20 Places you Need a Portable Charger
- Concerts & Sporting Events
Everyone takes their phones to concerts now. After all, if you don’t have a photo were you even there?
- The beach
The myCharge Adventure H2O is water-proof and dirt-proof making it a great candidate for keeping you charged while enjoying a day at the beach. So, listen to your music, read a book on your Kindle app and snap photos to your heart’s content. myCharge has you covered.
- Camping
Roughing it doesn’t mean you can’t have your phone. There are also some fantastic camping apps to enhance your experience. Geocaching, Accuweather, and MyNature Animal Tracks are a great place to start. The myCharge Adventure Power Lumens is a great option for camping. Not only will this portable charger keep you charged and ready to explore, but it also doubles as a powerful lamp as well.
- Hiking
It’s important to let someone know where you’re going and to stay in touch when you’re hiking and while it’s nice to disconnect, it’s nice not to get lost and use your phone as a GPS if needed too.
- Backpacking
You may not have service if you’re on an overnight backpacking trip, but your phone still doubles as a flashlight and camera because let’s face it, if you happen to spot Bigfoot, you DO want that photo.
- Amusement Parks
myCharge Adventure H2O is shock-proof making it the perfect charger for a day at your favorite amusement park. With 15000 mAh, this is ideal for you to share with a friend or family member. Plus, the carabiner clip makes it easy to attach to your backpack or belt buckle.
- Shopping
I don’t know about you, but when I go shopping, I go SHOPPING. It’s an all-day affair, often at thrift stores, browsing the racks and looking for deals.
- Road Trips
myCharge Adventure PowerLumens couldn’t be more perfect for a road trip. Not only will it ensure you stay connected, it also serves as a roadside SOS device, plus it’s bright enough that you could easily have enough light to change a tire on the darkest night.
- Airport Layovers and Long Flights
Anyone who has ever flown knows how difficult it can be to snag a spot in one of the much-coveted charging stations. Stay charged so you can browse social media, read your books or watch movies during a layover or your flight.
- Outdoor Jobs
Construction workers, Road Crews and even public service workers who work outside can appreciate a portable charger from time to time.
- Snow Boarding or Skiing
myCharge Adventure H20 is light enough that you can throw it in your pocket and the rugged rubberized finish ensures the charger is water-proof, so you don’t have to worry about ruining it if you drop it in the snow.
- Water Parks
Once again, the Adventure H2O is ideal. Pack it in your tote bag with your sunscreen and beach towels and when you need a break from water play, you can browse social media or watch your favorite sitcom before resuming playtime.
- Day Outings to the Zoo, etc.
Portable chargers ensure you stay connected in the vehicle and throughout your day so you can take all the photos you desire whether you’re visiting your favorite park, museum or zoo.
- Power Outages
The devastation that tornadoes, hurricanes and other natural disasters leave in their wake can be hard to fathom but recovering from them may take days, weeks and months. By keeping a portable charger in your Doomsday Kit, you’ll ensure you can stay connected in the days immediately following an act of God should an emergency arise.
- Long Travel Days
There are places where a portable charger lends itself naturally. Think about spending a day in Chicago or New York City where you’re on your feet and running (hopefully not literally) from one museum to another trying to pack it all in. The last thing you want is for your phone battery to die so you’re left with no way to navigate and no camera for those magnificent selfies atop the Empire State Building.
- College Classes
College lectures can make for long days. Make sure your iPad stays charged so you can type your notes rather than handwriting them and save yourself some hand cramps.
- Cruise Ship Excursions
Excursions can take anywhere from a couple of hours to a full-day and chances are, you’re doing something fantastic and want to take a ton of photos or videos. Make sure you’re charged and ready to go with a light-weight portable charger.
- Deployments
An overseas deployment often means a LONG flight. My son is grateful to borrow my extra battery chargers during each of his deployments so he can keep his phone charged on the way to and home from his base so he can watch movies and listen to music on his device.
- Visits to the Doctors Office or Hospital
You may run to the doctor’s office for a quick visit and end up waiting for what feels like an eternity. Don’t count on plugins available to charge your device. The last appointment I had; the plugins were already in use.
- New Drivers
A portable charger is a great gift idea for a new driver and provides peace of mind that they can reach help should they encounter a flat tire or another emergency.
