Romantic Lodging Options in Hocking Hills

The Hocking Hills region is one of Ohio’s most visited destinations and for good reason. Nature lovers, antique hunters, and history buffs will love what the area has to offer. And for those looking for a quiet getaway for two, you’ll find plenty of private, secluded cabins for those moments when you want to spice things up a bit. My husband and I have visited the area several times, with and without our children and have a few romantic lodging ideas to share.

Romantic Lodging Options in Hocking Hills

Hocking Hills State Park Cabins

My first visit to Hocking Hills included a stay in one of the cabins in Hocking Hills State Park. The cabins offer two bedrooms, a gas fireplace, a screened-in porch, and comfortable accommodations at an affordable price. Located in close proximity to Old Man’s Cave, Ash Cave, and Conkle’s Hollow, these cabins are a good fit for a couple on a budget seeking a quiet getaway with plenty of opportunities to explore the outdoors.

The Hocking Hills Regional Visitor’s Center is on your way to the cabin and I’ve found the staff to be very helpful in offering suggestions of places to eat and things to do in the area. Located outside the Visitor Center is an adorable pencil sharpener museum that’s definitely worth a quick peek inside.

Glenlaurel Inn

One of the most romantic lodging options in Hocking Hills, the adults-only Glenlaurel Inn caters to couples. Guests can choose to stay in the Manor House or one of the Scottish themed crofts or cottages scattered throughout the property.  The crofts and cottages offer optimal privacy with your own hot tub surrounded by nature, so no worries if you forget to pack your bathing suit.  You could elect to stay in for meals, or if you’re in a social mood, join other guests in the Loch Ness Pub for cocktails before partaking of the evening meal, which is served by candlelight.

To ensure you have plenty of snuggle time for that special someone, I’d suggest skipping the three-course breakfast and arrange for a breakfast basket to be delivered to your room in the morning before you set off to explore the grounds.

Laurel Run Farm Luxury Lodges

This property isn’t a small cabin by any means and may seem like overkill for two, but it offers many of the amenities of the above cabins and then some. This gorgeous property is located in a private setting and features an outdoor pool, hot tub, private grounds with trails, gourmet kitchen, theater room, and plenty of space. Packages can be arranged to provide a private chef or couples massage.

If a getaway without the kids isn’t possible, Laurel Run Farm will provide plenty of privacy for the two of you when the kids finally go to bed.
