A scratch off travel tracker map is perfect for travel lovers to not only document their travels but as a display piece and conversation starter as well. I think I found the perfect gift for my 24-year old. And I didn’t even plan it on purpose. I was asked to review the Landmass Goods travel tracker map. Of course, I agreed, thinking how awesome it would look framed and hanging in my living room. But it is a world map and my husband and I aren’t exactly world travelers. Most of our travel is domestic, though we are hoping to broaden our horizons a bit after we’ve been to all 50 states.
My son, on the other hand, has traveled a bit internationally. Not as much as he’d like yet, but more than I have. So, I reconsidered. Instead of thinking how awesome it would look on my wall, I thought about how great it would look on his. Plus, the scratch off travel tracker map is a great gift for the traveler in your life who enjoys documenting their travels but wants an easy way to do it.
I didn’t tell my son about the map and when it arrived, I had a hard time holding back from opening it to see what it looked like. Somehow I refrained until he got home from work. The map comes in gift ready packaging. The triangular box is printed with the images of flags of the world and an airplane. He opened the box to reveal a sturdy tube containing the map.
He was excited to see that not only are the continents shown but the flags the represent each country are included at the bottom of the map so when you scratch off the country you’ve visited, you can scratch off the flag as well. The United States, Canada, and Australia feature state outlines as well.
My son didn’t waste any time. He unrolled the map, grabbed a coin, and began scratching off the states and countries he’s visited.
The map is sturdy with a protective coating. It is rolled pretty tight so we placed books on the edges to flatten it. After two days, sitting on my dining room table, I moved the books and the map rolled right back up. I finally read the directions which stated to roll the map up in the opposite direction to flatten it. That worked much better.
The states and countries scratched off the Landmass Goods travel tracker map with little effort unlike some I’ve tried in the past that required so much energy that I gave up and set them aside for a rainy day that is yet to motivate me to retrieve them from their place in the back of the closet.
The map hasn’t been framed for display yet, but I have no doubt that it will be and I can’t wait to see it. The map is 17” x 24” and fits in an 18” x 24” frame.
The travel tracker map is a great gift to help the traveler in your life document their travels easily and display where they’ve been. Plus, it’s a wonderful conversation starter if it’s displayed where your company can see it.
