I admit it. I’m becoming a lazy cook. I just can’t keep up with work, cleaning the house and preparing elaborate meals for my family. Not that I ever planned incredible meal plans- but I can pretend right?
These days, simplicity is what it’s all about. The easier and better tasting the meal is, the better. And that’s true whether I’m at home or traveling on the road.
Enter Nate’s Meatless Meatballs. These meatballs offer the same taste, texture, and versatility of traditional meatballs. In fact, I prepared an easy meatball sub using the Zesty Italian flavor and my family had no idea these weren’t really meatballs. My husband told me the only thing that he noticed that was different is they didn’t seem to be as firm as meatballs that I’ve made in the past.
Not only are these a great option for vegetarians or vegans, they also work well for folks like us who want to reduce our beef and meat intake. Nate’s Meatless Meatballs are also available in Classic and Savory Mushroom and can be purchased at Whole Foods nationwide.
Easy to make Meatball Subs in Minutes
Nate’s Meatless Meatballs can be heated in the microwave or oven, but I opted to heat them on the stove top.
After they were warmed, I added some spaghetti sauce and allowed it to continue to heat up for a few minutes. While I was waiting for the meatballs to simmer, I toasted the hoagie buns in the oven.
When the meatballs were heated through and the sub buns were toasted, I placed several meatballs on the bread and added a slice of mozzarella cheese. Doesn’t this sandwich look yummy?
The total cook time was about 15 minutes, which could have been reduced if I’d opted to use the microwave, which is why this will be a great meal to cook during our next hotel stay.
I admit, I was nervous to try the meatless meatballs, but they were delicious. And with five people in the house with varied tastes, I didn’t hear one complaint about this dish. Looking for something quick and easy? Try these meatball subs.
Disclosure: I was provided a package of Zesty Italian Nate’s Meatless Meatballs to try with my family and to share my opinion here on my blog. As always, opinions are all my own.
